Generally rather unsettled and wet across more western areas of Europe, drier and warmer through central and eastern areas in particular


Sunday
During Sunday and it is low pressure and unsettled weather that will continue to dominate across many western areas of Europe. Rain or showers are forecast across parts of the British Isles, down into France, especially western France where some heavy rain is possible, perhaps with thunderstorms too. Cool and showery weather is forecast across much of Spain and Portugal, perhaps with longer spells of rain in Portugal as well as the day progresses. Many central and particularly eastern areas of Europe will maintain warmer and more settled conditions in association with high pressure. Italy and many central and eastern areas of Med, including Turkey and Greece will be mainly dry with some warm spells of sunshine, but a few inland afternoon showers are possible. Fine weather extends northwards across Slovakia and up towards Poland and surrounding countries, some very pleasant weather is predicted here through Sunday afternoon. Unsettled but rather mild weather is forecast across Scandinavia however, but with cold and wintry conditions lingering across northern areas of Sweden, Finland and Norway.


Monday
During Monday and a distinct region of unsettled weather is forecast to extend from southern areas of Finland, Sweden and Norway, down towards parts of England and into France, Spain and Portugal. It is across these areas that rain or showers are forecast, perhaps with some thunderstorms too across France through the afternoon. Showery weather is forecast to develop through the day across Italy and surrounding areas, local downpours possible here. However, much of the eastern Med, including Turkey and Greece, along with much of eastern areas of Europe will maintain fine, settled conditions with some warm spells of sunshine. Much of Europe will be warm with the highest temperatures through more central and southern areas, but late cold weather will lingering across more northern areas of Norway, Sweden and Finland where locally very cold with some snow.
