A chilly month with a risk of wintry weather before becoming milder and unsettled later

There is a threat of February being a colder month as an easterly wind tries to become established. Tending to turn more unsettled mid to late month. Milder air perhaps not returning until late in the month and into early March.

*3/2/18 - 9/2/18*
Higher pressure building to the east. Becoming cooler, especially in the east and south. Milder in Scotland and Ireland. Dry for most, although soe drizzle and rain affecting northern and western Scotland at times.

*10/2/18 - 16/2/18*
Pressure stays generally high, although battle between warm and cold air continues.
Latest ideas suggest a cold and mainly dry week. Some snow flurries in the east, best sunshine to the west.

*17/2/18 - 22/2/18*
Perhaps wintry for a time this week as low pressure nudges in from the west. This could bring rain and milder weather, preceded by sleet and snow. Windy at times.

*23/2/18 - 2/3/18*
High pressure may again build to the north. Unsettled, wet and cold, especially in more southern and eastern areas. A risk of some late season sleet and snow. Drier overall in Scotland and Ireland.

*3/3/18 to 9/3/18*
Pressure may build again for a time as milder air advances from the west. Rain arrives with the milder air, most in the north and west.
