A better day for many but still rain, sleet and snow in northern Scotland.

Good morning,

Well it's not going to be too bad a day today, especially when compared to the weather of recent times. There will be some rain around (well there has to be doesn't there?), this mostly across northern Scotland and the north of Ireland. Some showers too for northern England with further snow affecting the hills of Scotland.

Elsewhere it should be a better morning with the cloud breaking and some sunny spells coming through the cloud. A few showers in eastern England at first but these fading away. Then expect a fair afternoon with some further spells of sunshine.Mild for all but central and northern Scotland where the cold air reminas.

Staying fair for many until dark, although we then need to watch for showers developing overnight, especially in western areas.
