Sunniest far north

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 15th April 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Some heavy rain, most persistent south-west

Good morning,

Low pressure is centred west of Ireland, pushing fronts north-eastwards across Britain. Outbreaks of rain, most frequent in the south-west, some heavy bursts, and may persist over an hour or more.

Dry until late afternoon toward eastern coasts. East Anglia and the south-east seeing little if any rain. Some sunshine, but generally clouding over. The north of Scotland likely dry all day, with sunshine much of the day.

Brisk south to south-easterly winds in south-western regions, but the breeze also strengthening elsewhere.

Today's top temperatures will range from 11 to 13C in the west where rain lingers, but reaching 15 to 18C in eastern areas, and also warm in the north of Scotland.

Have a great day.
Garry
