Drier east

Cloudy and damp west, drier start in the east

Good morning,

It's going to be a mostly cloudy day today. A mild southwest flow is bringing low cloud, drizzle and patchy rain across Ireland and into the southwest of England, western Wales, northwest England and western Scotland. It will be turning increasingly windy too in western Scotland as the day progresses with the rain turnins heavier too.

Further east it should be brighter with a few sunny spells this morning, but even here the cloud is likely to be increasing. Some drizzle affeting the hills of southern England and feeling milder too.

A band of more persistent rain slips south through Scotland overnight and reaches Northern Ireland. Drier further south with cloudier skies. Staying windy in northern Scotland.
