Breezy and damp in the west but drier and brighter east and south

Good morning,

Rain this morning in western Scotland and through Ireland with some low cloud shrouding the hills and coasts. Drier elsewhere with some bright or sunny spells. Winds will be light in the east but picking up in the west where they could be strong in places.

The rain in the west may turn to heavier bursts through this afternoon, especially western Scotland, eastern Ireland and the hills of Wales. This heavier rain arriving in Cumbria later. Drier although with a fair amount of cloud over most of the rest of England and Wales, although the drizzle and rain arrives in eastern Wales and western England. later.

A damp night ahead with cloud and outbreaks of drizzle and rain. Plenty of hill and coastal mist and murk too. Turning drier in western Ireland and western Scotland.
