Increasingly wet and windy in the north and west, drier and brighter further south and east

Good morning,

It's an unsettled start to Friday across Scotland and Ireland with wet and windy weather dominating the weather here, some wet weather now also getting into the far west of Wales and SW England. Elsewhere though and it is mainly dry with some bright or sunny spells, especially across more central and eastern areas of England and Scotland and it is mild.

Into Friday evening and the more unsettled conditions in the north and west will make erratic progress eastwards to bring a greater risk of rain or showers across much of England and Wales, perhaps with some further heavy rain or showers in places too, perhaps drier across western areas though by the end of the night. A mild night for all.
