Getting brighter for most
Best in north

Getting brighter after a cloudy and damp start in the south, brighter to the north

Good morning,

Quite a dull start to the day across much of England, Wales and southern Ireland. There will be some spots of drizzle and light rain, mostly on the hills. This rain fades away for many this morning with some brighter spells forming into this afternoon. Staying cloudy in the far south. Drier and brighter in northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland with some sunny spells here. Breezy in northern Scotland too.

This afternoon is likely to be brighter for many of us. There will be sunny spells and it should be dry. However, a few spots of rain still affecting the far southeast of England, but more persistent rain reaching the far northwest of Scotland. Turning wetter too in western parts of Ireland.

Outbreaks of mostly light rain affecting Wales and southern England as well as Ireland during tonight although turing breezier, showery and colder to the north.
