Mostly dry & very warm
Coud breaking

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 5th July 2017
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Cloudy and drizzly start in the north, brighter elsewhere and very warm in the south

Good morning,

An ageing front is going to be bringing plenty of cloud across Ireland and northern England as well as southern Scotland this morning. The front may have enough energy left in it to give some drizzle over high ground. This should fade into the afternoon with the cloud breaking to give brighter spells. However, a few showers may then developing, although these will be scattered. Some low cloud and drizzle may affect southeast Scotland too.

Brighter elsewhere with broken cloud and some sunny spells. These are likely to be lasting for much of the day and it will be dry too. Feeling warm in the sunshine with temperatures to 29C in southeastern England.

Watch for showers moving into northern and western Ireland and western Scotland tonight. An area of thundery showers may arrive in southern England by the morning too.
