Morning Call - March 03, 2017
Persistent rain
Brighter north

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 3rd March 2017

Some hill snow

Good morning,

Low pressure will be centred broadly across south-western Britain and Ireland today, bringing areas of persistent and heavy rain.

A warm front will push slowly northwards across central & southern England & Wales - bringing rain for many hours, although west Wales should be drier. A cold front brings showery rain to the south-west.

An occluded front pivots around the low across Ireland, bringing some prolonged heavy rain. Some of this rain may also affect south-west Scotland. However, much of northern Britain should escape dry most or all day with sunny spells.

Some hill snow is likely for the Peak District, Pennines and Snowdonia as fronts drift further north, although this becoming confined to just the highest ground as temperatures rise.

A warm sector influences southern England, bringing temperatures of 10 to 12C, but locally across north Wales & northern England, temperatures may struggle at just 5C. Around 7C in Scotland.

Have a great day.
Garry
