High pressure dominates bringing plenty of dry and sunny weather after a chilly start

Good morning,

It's a chilly start to Thursday with frost across much of the countryside in particular. Much of Thursday morning though will be dry with some bright or sunny spells and variable cloud.

Through the afternoon and not a great deal of change in the weather is expected with many areas being dominated by high pressure that means a lot of useful dry weather with plenty of sunny spells and variable cloud, but it will be chilly despite the sunshine and an in a light breeze across England and Wales in particular.

Into Thursday evening and temperatures will fall away once again leading to another widespread frost on Thursday night, but still with plenty of dry weather with clear spells and variable cloud, perhaps with some local mist and fog patches too. Perhaps cloudier, breezier and less cold across the far north-west of Scotland.
