Morning Call - February 03, 2018
Rain, Sleet and Snow
Cold

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 3rd February 2018
Duty forecaster: Matthew Hugo

Damp weather moving south and east, cold for all

Good morning,

It's a cold and damp start to the day with a region of light or moderate, rain, sleet and snow across central, western and northern areas, the snow primarily on higher ground. Mainly dry across the far south-east of England, while cold and showery weather is expected across Ireland.

Through the afternoon and a region of light rain, sleet or snow is expected to be situated down the 'spine' of the British Isles, again the snow mainly on higher ground, perhaps the Pennines and Peak District, for example. Ahead of this cloudy and mainly dry in the south-east, while cold and showery weather develops widely across W Scotland, Ireland, perhaps W Wales and SW England.

Mostly cloudy and damp weather persists into Saturday night with an awkward mix of patchy rain, sleet and snow but this gradually easing and drier weather developing along with frost and icy patches in places too.

Matthew
