Morning Call - July 06, 2017
Thundery rain
Very warm south

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 6th July 2017
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Cloudy and drizzly start in the north, brighter elsewhere and very warm in the south

Good morning,

A very messy weather situation affects the UK and Ireland on Thursday. An area of thundery weather will be spreading north through the Midlands and southern England, reaching northeast England through the afternoon. The rain could be torrential in places. Very warm or hot across southern and southeast England where it may be drier in the far south.

Drier weather over western parts of England and Wales with some bright or sunny sells here. A few showers here and there, mostly on the hills. More persistent rain reaches northern and western Scotland as well as western Ireland. Eastern Scotland may have some patchy rain at first but this should fade.

Thundery rain in eastern parts of England tonight with more rain in the north and west of Scotland. Becoming drier in the west overall.
