Morning Call - September 21, 2017
Wet weather slowly moving east
Warm in the far east, cooler in the west

Wet weather, with locally heavy rain, only slowly moving east through the day

Good morning,

Rain this moring across Scotland, NW England, Wles and SW England, locally heavy at times too, will slowly progress eastwards through the day. Drier and brighter ahead of the rain, equally quite dry and bright following on behind too, across W Scotland and Ireland.

The slow moving nature of the band of rain means some locally large rainfall totals may develop across parts of SW England, Wales and NW England through the rest of the morning and into the early afternoon. In contrast, across E Anglia and SE England it will be mainly dry for much of the day, with some bright or sunny spells and pleasantly warm here too. Showery weather filters into Ireland and W Scotland, but even here some drier and brighter conditions are possible through the afternoon, this an improvement on what was a very wet day here on Wednesday.

Rain across E England will clear late in the day and Thursday night then sees a little ridge of high pressure build into the UK, bringing a mainly dry night with clear spells and it will turn chilly too, perhaps with local mist, fog and ground frost possible through into the early hours of Friday.
