Friday
Low pressure is centred over northern Scotland, whilst a slow-moving frontal system influences southern Britain. An unsettled day, with some prolonged falls of rain for southern England & Wales. Northern areas will be somewhat brighter, but with frequent showers in the north-west. The north-east is likely to fare best, with some sunshine. Blustery winds, especially near the south coast. Highs 13 to 18C, warmest in East Anglia.


Friday night
Frontal rain clears away from southern Britain, but a showery north-westerly airflow continues across the British Isles. Showers will be most frequent near coasts in the north & west, whilst inland and eastern areas will see dry and clear spells. A breezy night in the south & west, but winds falling lighter toward the north-east. Temperatures widely 8 to 11C, but locally 5C in rural northern areas.


Saturday
A changeable day of sunshine and showers. Rain will be most frequent around western coasts in the morning, but will transfer inland. Some heavy and locally thundery bursts. By afternoon, showers will be most widespread in central, east & southern England. A brisk west to north-westerly wind, strongest around south-western coasts, locally gusting gale force. Feeling cool at just 14 to 18C, warmest in the south-east.


Sunday
A bright start in the south & east of Britain, but any sunshine soon turning hazy as cloud builds from the west. Rain already affects Ireland first thing in the morning, and soon spreads into western Britain. Through the middle of the day, rain moves quickly into central areas, reaching the south-east during the afternoon. Heaviest falls will be over western hills. Strengthening winds, local gales west. Highs 13 to 18C.
