Sunshine, a few showers
Chilly nights

Friday
Pressure builds gradually from the west. Expect showers to develop in eastern counties of England, these locally banding together into frequent rain, some heavy bursts possible. A few showers along to Pennines too. A good amount of sunshine elsewhere, best around coasts in the west. Staying dry for Wales, the south-west and across Ireland. Light north-westerly winds. A fresh feel, highs 15 to 18C north & west, 19 to 22C south & east.

Friday night
Dry almost everywhere overnight. A few showers possible around coasts in the far south-east. Skies clearing and winds dropping light inland, although a brisk northerly may continue around coasts in the south. Local mist patches forming in low-lying areas. Temperatures 9 to 12C in the south-east, but lows widely 5 to 8C, and close to zero in Scottish glens. A grass frost in many rural areas in north & west of Britain.

Saturday
High pressure extends across the country bringing a fair day overall. Plenty of sunshine and winds mostly light. A chance of local showers around coasts near the Dover Strait in the morning. A southerly breeze freshening in the west, and fronts moving in from the Atlantic will push rain across Ireland, which will excroach onto western coasts of Britain into the night. Temperatures 17 to 22C, warmest in the south-east.

Sunday
Eastern Britain is likely to stay dry and fairly warm with hazy sunshine. The far north of Scotland should also escape dry. Fronts moving into western areas bring thickening cloud and outbreaks of rain - this may turn heavy in the south-west. Showers following across Ireland. A strong south to south-easterly wind, touching gale force around western coasts. Temperatures up to 23C in East Anglia, 18 to 21C elsewhere, but cooler in rain.
