A mixed week but then improving through the weekend and next week

A mixed few days ahead with a few drier days but also some rain and showers. Tending to become drier into the weekend and next week as higher pressure builds. Temperatures are going to be rising gradually although it is likely to be breezy at times.

Thursday 21/9/17
A front passing slowly eastwards through Thursday. This is going to be bringing cloud and rain, some of it heavy. Most of the rain through Scotland, northern, central and southern England as well as Wales in the morning. The rain band edges east into the afternoon and evening. Drier weather follows to the west with sunny spells, although showers will be affecting western Ireland later, some of them heavy. Highs at 14C in the north and west, 22C in southeast England.


Friday 22/9/17
A ridge of high pressure builds into the country through Friday. There could be some morning mist and fog patches in more sheltered inland areas. These clear quickly to leave a fair day with spells of sunshine. Cloud and some outbreak sof rain affecting Ireland and western Scotland where it will be breezy too. Highs at a milder 16 to 21C.
 


Saturday 23/9/17
High pressure over Scandinavia on Saturday with low pressure to the west. This is going to be bringing a mostly dry day with sunny spells although there could be some low cloud on eastern coasts. Breezy in Ireland and western Scotland. Highs at 17 to 22C.

 
 
 


Sunday 24/9/17
High pressure stays to the northeast bringing an increasing southeast wind. The day should be mostly fair with sunny spells, although rather breezy. Cloud and some outbreaks of rin in the far west of Scotland. Eastern coasts of Scotland and England could see some lower cloud. Highs at 16 to 22C.


Monday 25/9/17
An area of low pressure may bring some showers and rain into the south of England on Monday. Elsewere higher pressure to the northeast gives a drier but breezy day. Eastern areas of England and Scotland may have some lower cloud, but more western areas stay brighter and drier with sunny periods. Highs at 15 to 22C but feeling cooler on eastern coasts.

Tuesday 26/9/17
Pressure probably stays mostly high through Tuesday. There is a threat of some rain and showers in eastern Scotland and eastern England. Tending to be drier to the west with sunny spells. Breezy with highs at 15 to 21C.
