Very warm in the south

Overall weather conditions will be rather changeable through the upcoming week. At times fronts will cross the country bringing in spells of persistent rain. Temperatures will become very warm before falling back to normal by the end of the week.

A fair, dry start across Britain with sunny spells for many. Scattered, showers develop mainly across westernmost parts of the country through the day. More cloudy in the afternoon across Britain. A front spreads in across western areas in the night. Expect highs of 18 to 24C.

Wednesday 26/07/17
Rather warm today in the south. Outbreaks of rain across western parts of England and Scotland along with Wales spread eastward in the afternoon, although East Anglia and south east England may stay dry but cloudy. Heavy spells of rain across eastern Britain in the evening clears all but the south east in the night. Expect highs of 17 to 25C.
 

Thursday 27/07/17
It continues warm today. Apart from a few showers across eastern parts of England with a few across the hills of Scotland, most areas should be mainly dry with the best of the sunshine in the west and quite cloudy in the east. Fine through the afternoon and night with clear skies. Look for highs of 18 to 25C.
 

Friday 28/07/17
With a cell of high pressure near the south east dominating, Friday appears to be a fine, dry and very warm day with lots of sunshine. It becomes windier and cloudier in the west in the evening as an area of rain runs in across western parts of Britain. Expect highs of 18 to 27C.
 

Saturday 29/07/17
It continues very warm today. An area of moderate to heavy rain across Scotland, northern England, Wales and the south west in the morning spreads eastward into all parts of Britain in the afternoon. This clears from the west during the evening. Expect highs of 19 to 27C.

Sunday 30/07/17
Apart from showers across western parts of Scotland, most areas will have a dry day with sunny spells and patchy cloud. Lots of showers to come across Scotland overnight while an area of rain may reach Cornwall by morning. Look for highs of 17 to 22C.
