Very warm then turning cooler and more showery next week

Warm weather in the coming days will bring a welcome end to a long winter. There will be good spells of sunshine for many, although low cloud and mist may affect coasts and hills. Indications are that cooler air arrives late on Sunday and into Monday bringing about more mixed weather with sunny spells and showers. Most of the showers in the north and west.

Saturday 21/4/18
High pressure to the east of England on Saturday. Early mist and fog patches clearing to leave sunny spells. A few coastal mist and fog patches and dry for most. Isolated showers affecting northern England and Scotland later in the day. Highs at 18 to 24C for most.

Sunday 22/4/18
A weak front in Scotland although pressure stays higher to the south. Cloud and outbreaks of rain in Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England. Drier for the rest of England and Wales, just an odd shower in the Midlands in the afternoon. Some sunnier spells to the south but generally cloudier than recently. Highs at 13 to 16C in Scotland and Ireland, 25C in southeast England.

Monday 23/4/18
A fresher westerly flow through all areas on Monday. This brings a mix of sunshine and showers, most of these to the west. Highs around 12 to 16C.

 
 
 

Tuesday 24/4/18
Low pressure remains to the north of Scotland on Tuesday with pressure being a little higher to the south. This brings a breezy day with sunshine and showers, these frequent in the north and west. Fewer showers to the south. Highs at 10 to 15C.

Wednesday 25/4/18
Low pressure is expected east of the country through today. This brings sunshine and showers for most, some of them heavy. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Thursday 26/4/18
A similar day of sunshine and showers through Thursday. The showers may be on the heavy side with a risk of thunder. Highs at 9 to 14C.
