Slowly improving with temperaures rising nd less rain

Cool with some showers on eastern coasts through the weekend, but drier to the west. Next week shows signs of becoming drier as pressure slowly builds. This then leads to drier weather next wek, although there will be some rain as weak fronts edge eastwards.

Monday 18/9/17
A ridge of high pressure builds across the Uk and Ireland on Monday. This is going to be bringing a chilly start for many following clear skies the previous night. The day should be dry with good spells of sunshine, although there is a risk of some showers affecting eastern coasts. Increasing cloud brings the threat of some drizzle to Ireland and western Scotland later. Highs at a milder 14 to 19C.


Tuesday 19/9/17
A ridge of high pressure builds through the country on Tuesday. Low pressure to the east brings some showers on eastern coasts. Dry for most with sunny spells, although some low cloud affecting northwest Scotland and western Ireland. Highs at 14 to 20C.

 
 
 


Wednesday 20/9/17
A ridge of high pressure is maintained in eastern and southern areas on Wednesday with broken cloud here and some spells of sunshine. A front brings stronger winds, cloud and some rain into Ireland and western Scotland. Tops near 15 to 21C.

 
 
 


Thursday 21/9/17
Thursday may be a cloudier day as a front edges eastwards bringing cloud and some bursts of rain to many areas. There is uncertainty in the detail of the forecast for the day, but most places are likely to see some rain. Highs at 14 to 19C.


Friday 22/9/17
Pressure building to the east and south on Friday with low pressure to the west of Ireland. Cloud and outbreaks of rain affecting western Ireland and western Scotland. The remnants of a front may bring cloud and rain in the far east but fairer conditions in-between. Highs at 15 to 22C.

Saturday23/9/17
High pressure remains east and south of the country on Saturday. This is likely to be bringing a bright day with sunny spels and humid conditions. Murkier around western and southern coasts with some drizzle and low cloud here. Highs at 15 to 22.
