A mixed week for all with sunshine, rain and showers, although mild

A mixed week ahead with rainfall for al parts of the UK and Ireland. There will be showers or longer spells of rain at times, most of them to the west. Eastern areas may well see a few drier days. Temperatures are likely to be staying mild overall. Hints of things becoming more widely unsettled again into the later stages of next week too.

Saturday 29/7/17
Saturday sees low pressure to the west of Scotland. It will be a breezy day in western Scotland and Ireland with persistent showers or longer spells of rain here. Eastern Scotland, England and Wales should be brighter with some sunny spells but also showers. Most of these showers across northern England and the north and west of Wales although some affecting southern coasts of England too. Highs at 18 to 25C, winds will be moderate to fresh southwesterly.


Sunday 30/7/17
Low pressure stays to the west of Scotland on Sunday. This is going to bring another changeable day across the whole of the UK and Ireland. There will be showers, some of them heavy, with the most frequent in the west where they could be thundery at times. Fewer showers to the east and south with the best of any sunshine here. Tops at 17 to 24C in a fresh southwest wind.


Monday 31/7/17
July looks set to go out on a rather mixed note. Low pressure stays to the west of the UK and Ireland with a mix of sunshine and showers for many. Across England, ales and eastern Scotland the showers are likely to be mostly scattered, but they could be heavier in western Scotland and Ireland. Tops at 17 to 24C in a moderate southwest breeze.
 


Tuesday 1/8/17
Low pressure stays to the west on Tuesday. This brings showers to Ireland and Scotland with a few on other western coasts. Generally though other places are expected to be dry with sunny spells, the best in the east. Tops near 17 to 23C.


Wednesday 2/8/17
Hints of a better day on Wednesday as a weak ridge of high pressure builds. This could leave many northern and eastern areas dry with sunny spells, although low pressure may push rain back into Ireland and southwest England. Tops of 18 to 25C.

Thursday 3/8/17
Perhaps becoming more unsettled again on Thursday as low pressure again passes close to the UK. This brings brisk winds and rain, most in Northern Ireland and Scotland. Showers following the rain into England, Wales and southern Ireland, some of the showers heavy at times on western and southern coasts and hills. Highs at 16 to 22C.
