Risk of gales by weekend

The upcoming week is likely to be very unsettled with band of rain sweeping east that give way t showers. It will also be rather windy and on Saturday we may see gale to severe gales. Temperatures too will be on the slide through the week.

Lots of dry weather is expected today but cooler and breezy. After a sunny start, it turns more cloudy in many areas. A few showers to affect the north and the west. A dry night except for a few showers in the west. Expect highs of 15 to 19C.

Thursday 07/09/17
Rain may spill in across the northern of Scotland through the day. England and Wales will be fair and dry with the best of the sunshine in the morning. Windy with outbreaks of rain likely across northern areas in the night. Expect highs of 15 to 21C.

It will be unsettled and breezy with rain across England and Wales. Across Scotland there will be sunnier spells and showers. Most places will be dry overnight. Feeling cool with temperatures a bit below normal. Look for highs of 15 to 19C.

Staying chilly and it looks to be a wet day with spells of moderate to heavy rain that clear late in the evening. Very windy with a risk of gales across England and Wales. Staying cool for most. Staying cool for most Expect highs of 13 to 18C.

It remains rather chilly and very windy with below normal temperatures. Occasional blustery showers to affect mainly northern and western areas. Drier in the east and the south. Expect highs of 11 to 17C.

Monday 11/09/17
It looks to remain unsettled and windy across Britain. An area of moderate to heavy rain sweeps west to east to be followed by some blustery showers. Another chilly day to come. Look for highs of 10 to 16C.
