An unsettled weekend but better early next week

An unsettled weekend as low pressure becomes slow moving over the country. This brings rain and showers, some heavy, although conditions should improve early next week. There is some uncertainty in the forecast from the middle of next week although suggestions are that things turn more unsettled once again.

Saturday 22/7/17
Low pressure remains over the UK on Saturday. This brings another showery day. The showers will be heavy at times and may merge into longer periods of rain wth a risk of thunderstorms. The far north of Scotland may fair better with conditions being mostly dry with sunny spells here. Showers tending to fade in more western areas later in the day and through the evening. Highs at 14 to 18C.

Sunday 23/7/17
Low pressure drifts to the east of the UK on Sunday. A mix of simshine and showers for many with most of the showers in more eastern areas. A weak ridge of high pressure building through Ireland bringing some drier weather with the best of the sunshine to the west. Highs at 16 to 22C.
 

Monday 24/7/17
A weak ridge of high pressure extends through Ireland and western Scotland. There may again be an odd shower affecting eastern coasts but for most of the country it will be dry and bright with sunny spells. Highs at 18 to 23C.

 
 
 

Tuesday 25/7/17
A ridge of high pressure remains over most of the country on Tuesday. This brings a mostly dry day across much of England and Wales. However, a weak front passing through Ireland, Scotland and northwest England may bring cloud here with some low cloud and drizzle affecting western coasts and hills. Highs at 17 to 25C.

Wednesday 26/7/17
Mostly dry through Wednesday for England and Wales with sunny spells. A band of cloud and rain moves into western Scotland and Ireland associated with a front. Rather cloudy through much of northern England and eastern Scotland. Tops at 16 to 25C.

Thursday 27/7/17
Probably more unsettled again through Thursday with lower pressure pushing cloud and rain eastwards. Most of the rain to the north and west with lighter rain south and east. Highs at 15 to 22C.
