A chilly week

The upcoming week is likely to be very unsettled periods of rain and plenty of heavy showers for most areas. Temperatures are expected to be lower than normal and feeling chilly. It appears that it settles down towards the end of the week as high pressure builds in from the south west.

Tuesday 12/09/17
Showers in the north and the west develop more widely across much of Britain through the day and some will be heavy. Heavier and more persistent rain may affect Wales and south west England. Heavy rain sweeps into most areas in the evening. Very windy for the evening and night with a risk of gales in the far south. Expect highs of 14 to 18C.

Wednesday 13/09/17
Windy and staying chilly with temperatures below normal, especially in the north. Expect plenty of showers across Britain, heavy with a chance of thunder. The showers fade early in the evening ahead of a dry, mostly clear and colder night. Expect highs of 13 to 17C.
 

Thursday 14/09/17
Expect a mix of sunshine, cloud and showers. The showers turning heavier in the afternoon. Quite breezy and it remains on the chilly side with below normal temperatures. Dry and colder by night. Look for highs of 13 to 18C.

 
 
 

Friday 15/09/17
Staying chilly and it looks to remain unsettled across most areas with occasional showers, interspersed with dry, sunnier spells. The showers die away by evening ahead of a colder night under clear skies. Expect highs of 13 to 16C.

 
 
 

Saturday 16/09/17
We may see heavy rain into Scotland. A drier day across England and Wales with sunny spells. There may be a few showers across Wales, East Anglia and the south east. Staying cool. Expect highs of 11 to 17C.

Sunday 17/09/17
High pressure should give a fine, dry and mostly sunny day to England and Wales. A band of rain moves into Scotland and Northern Ireland. Look for highs of 16 to 19C.
